The Harmony Co-op is a cooperative grocery store based in Bemidji, MN and dating to 1977. Harmony provides farm-to-table foods to the greater Bemidji region, and takes care to focus on environmentally aware and socially responsible business practices.
This new identity was produced for Harmony's 2011 re-brand, which is tied to an expansion and relocation to a newly-remodeled space. Harmony wanted this new brand to strongly reflect their identity as Bemidji's friendly downtown grocer, while visually representing their commitment to simple, whole foods. They wanted to appeal to a broader audience and provide a warm, positive, and inviting space for their new and existing clientele.
The brand was developed to evoke the friendliness of a vintage, locally-owned grocer, but with a modern twist. The color scheme and material choices inside reflect the Co-op’s reclaimed space and commitment to natural foods, and the building’s exterior amps up the colors for a warm, fun, and inviting feel.
In addition to the grocery retail space, Harmony's expansion included a full-service deli specializing in whole foods and vegetarian/vegan fare and a commercial kitchen for use by co-op members and the community.
